He have to be punished for what he have done. Just meet his gf in presence of him and tell her all the truth. To proove yourself you can show her any photo or video in which it clearly shows you and he both were together. Destroy his life by breaking the trust between them, because he deservs it. And please don't think about yourself. Almighty God will definitely give you a better option. Because you have such a good and nice heart. So tit for tat. If I were you, really I would do this.

take pride that your situation was much better than mine. one ex-bf was like that to me, and we even moved in together... but his clothes were always in his baggage on the bedroom floor. one day i looked at the bedroom and felt it was a mess, and suggested making room for him to keep his clothes into the wardrobe instead... then next morning when i was at work, he packed everything and left. he told his friends that i was crazy for him, that i wished to marry him but he didn't love me, so what were those words he said when he was with me? your guy had lots of money and not interested in yours, but my ex... i bought him his air ticket when he didn't have money to return and gave him a place to live and helped him pay some of his debts. and that a**hole left just like that. a month later he even wrote a message to me on fb asking me to loan him some money.
but guess what, i wrote back to him, if he was more handsome and intelligent, maybe i'd have shown more mercy on him.
since then he didn't dare write to me anymore.
